Working instruments for taking these pictures apart and putting them together, one per selector, from the accordion fold to the mirrored cylinder.
FoldThe bench for the fold itself. Two to five of your own images on one sheet, with the facet angles, stations, separation and cutting figures worked out live, and the printable interlaced sheet at the end of it.Radial foldThe same pleat in polar coordinates, as rosettes and targets. A target selects by distance instead of by where you stand sideways. Neither arrangement will lie flat; a pleated disc is always a cone.LenticularThe industrial cousin. Works out the pitch you must actually print at, which is never the one on the box, plus viewing angle, view count, and moiré risk.Barrier gridScanimation. Interlace a loop of frames and slide a slitted mask across them. The interlacing is the same as a fold's; the selector is a mask, and the result is motion.AnamorphosisA template that means nothing flat and resolves into a picture in a mirrored cylinder stood on top of it. The oldest trick in the family, and the only one here that does not interlace.
